Donate 1 Unit of Blood— Save 4 Lives !
In Quantum Blood Lab we use state of the art machinery to separate four essential components of blood and supply them to different receivers based on their need. Our committed donor pool, modern equipments, 24 hour service, and uncompromising attitude towards blood safety ensure we can supply any blood components patients need timely, safely and, inexpensively.
We provide some special services to our donors, including five basic screening reports free and supply of blood without or at subsidized service charge. We also organize regular programs to honor our donors.
Participate in the program and taste the incomparable feeling of saving not one- but four lives.
Over the past few years, Quantum Voluntary Blood Donation Program has developed from a little known program to a full fledged social movement. Whereas in 2000, the total annual supply of blood was 1,500 units, in 2006, we supplied an average of 2,500 bags each month.

- Every unit of blood and/or blood components is collected from ‘voluntary’ donors.
- Every unit of blood collected is put through the five screening tests mandated by the World Health Organization: for AIDS, Jaundice or Viral Hepatitis B and C, Syphilis, and Malaria. Samples are discarded and destroyed even if there is a very slight indication of disease or if the screening yields inconclusive results.

- Every unit of blood is put through the rigorous, three phase compatibility test, (at room temperature, at 37 degree Celsius, and Coomb’s test) before blood is supplied. About 5% of patients risk being harmed if this 3-stage cross matching test is not performed.
- The Quantum Lab is managed by our own dedicated staff and experts and is equipped with all necessary equipment including a blood component separator (centrifuge machine), a modern Elisa machine for screening, a refrigerator capable of generating temperatures as low as – 90 degrees Celsius, and a platelet incubator to store platelet.
- Because of its uncompromising attitude in ensuring blood safety, the lab has earned the trust of expert physicians across Bangladesh in matters related to blood supply.
The Quantum Blood Lab is an international quality blood lab equipped with cutting edge equipment. As a result, we are able to supply the whole range of blood components including platelet concentrate, fresh plasma, platelet poor plasma, protein solution, RCC, and Cryoprecipitate.

28 Bags in Return for 26
A Touching Example of the Law of Natural Return
Dr. Md. Mijanur Rahman Chowdhury
By 1998, I had donated a total of 26 bags of blood. Many of these were for people I did not know personally. In 1998, when I was the emergency officer at the Chittagong Medical College, my leg was crushed in a severe accident. The bone in my left thigh was fractured in 40 places, the bone in my right thigh in 22 places. For four surgical operations, I needed a total of 28 bags of blood. I didn’t know that many people in Dhaka. Till today I do not know the people who came forward to donate their blood for me that day. May be because I had donated so much blood for people over the years, as a ‘return from nature’, people donated for me when I was in need. |
